Recruiting & Onboarding Specialist
Miamisburg, OH
Full Time
Mid Level
Renegade Materials is looking for a Recruiting & Onboarding Specialist to take ownership of recruiting and help us continue building a more structured candidate and new hire experience.
This is not a high-volume recruiting role.
Our hiring volume is relatively low, but the positions we recruit for are varied and often specialized. You may be recruiting for manufacturing, technical, engineering, commercial, or professional positions, which means success requires more than moving applicants through an ATS.
We're looking for someone who can learn what our teams do, partner directly with hiring managers, develop a recruiting strategy for each opening, actively source candidates when needed, and make thoughtful recommendations about who should move forward.
You'll also help us build areas that are still developing, including new hire orientation, onboarding processes, college relationships, and our co-op program.
And because we're a growing aerospace materials manufacturer, you'll have the opportunity to learn another part of the business by supporting customer contracts and commercial operations. Prior contracts experience is not required. We'll teach you.
This position may require access to export-controlled information or technology. Applicants must be eligible for such access under applicable U.S. export control laws and regulations.
Compensation
$50,000–$60,000 annual salary (exempt), based on experience and qualifications.
What You'll Do
What We're Looking For
Experience recruiting for manufacturing, engineering, technical, aerospace/defense, or other specialized positions is a plus.
Experience with college recruiting, Paycor, Epicor, contracts, or FAR/DFARS is also helpful, but not required.
Why Renegade?
Renegade Materials develops and manufactures advanced composite materials used in commercial and defense aerospace applications and is part of the Teijin Group.
This role is a good fit for someone who wants depth rather than recruiting volume.
You won't spend your day trying to hit a hiring quota or process dozens of nearly identical openings. Instead, you'll have the opportunity to learn different areas of the business, work directly with hiring managers, recruit for a variety of positions, improve our recruiting and onboarding processes, and develop experience outside traditional Talent Acquisition.
You'll be joining an organization where there is room to build, not simply inherit a finished recruiting program.

What You'll Do
- Own recruiting from approved opening through accepted offer and onboarding.
- Meet with hiring managers to understand the position, team, required skills, and what makes someone successful in the role.
- Develop the recruiting and sourcing strategy for each opening, including where and how to advertise positions.
- Source candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, social media, college relationships, referrals, and other appropriate channels.
- Review applications and conduct initial candidate interviews to determine who should advance in the process.
- Coordinate interviews, assessments, offers, pre-employment activities, and new hire onboarding.
- Write and maintain job postings that accurately represent the position and attract the right candidates.
- Help build and facilitate a consistent new hire orientation and onboarding experience.
- Manage our college co-op program and develop relationships with colleges, universities, and other early-career talent sources.
- Support recruiting-related HRIS activities, reporting, and HR projects.
- Learn Renegade's contract administration process and review customer purchase orders, agreements, and related documents for items requiring additional internal review.
- Coordinate contract requirements and open items with Sales and other internal teams.
- Support NDAs, customer documentation, and contract recordkeeping.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of in-house recruiting, talent acquisition, or comparable recruiting experience.
- Experience independently managing multiple stages of the recruiting process.
- Experience partnering directly with hiring managers rather than primarily processing large volumes of applicants.
- Demonstrated ability to source candidates rather than relying exclusively on incoming applications.
- Ability to learn unfamiliar positions and translate what you learn into an effective recruiting strategy.
- Strong interviewing and candidate assessment skills.
- Strong organization, follow-through, communication, and attention to detail.
- Sound judgment and the confidence to make recommendations and work independently.
- Comfortable learning and working in HRIS, ATS, and other business systems.
- Interest in building processes and improving how work gets done.
