About the Opportunity

Renegade Materials is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Miamisburg, Ohio.

This is a hands-on role supporting a broad range of HR functions, including recruiting, onboarding, payroll, timekeeping, employee training, HR systems, and general HR administration. Working closely with the Director of Human Resources, this individual will serve as a resource to employees and managers while helping develop and improve HR processes and programs.

We're looking for someone who enjoys the variety of a generalist role, is comfortable managing multiple priorities, and brings both practical HR experience and a commitment to providing excellent employee support.


What You'll Do

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
  • Manage full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interviews, offers, and pre-employment activities.
  • Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and support hiring decisions.
  • Coordinate onboarding, facilitate new hire orientation, and ensure a positive new employee experience.
  • Support recruiting and onboarding activities for our student co-op program.
  • Develop and improve recruiting and onboarding processes, materials, and resources.
Payroll, Timekeeping & HR Systems
  • Process payroll and review employee pay, timekeeping records, and related information for accuracy.
  • Review timekeeping exceptions and work with employees and managers to resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain employee information, employment transactions, and records within our HRIS.
  • Prepare HR and payroll reports and support related recordkeeping and compliance activities.
Training & Development
  • Coordinate employee training activities, schedules, assignments, and completion tracking.
  • Administer our learning management system (LMS) and assist employees and managers with training needs.
  • Support the development and improvement of training programs and resources.
General HR & Contracts Support
  • Serve as a resource to employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, payroll, timekeeping, and other routine HR questions.
  • Assist with HR compliance, employee documentation, policy administration, and process improvements.
  • Provide administrative support for employee relations matters as directed.
  • Support limited customer contracts administration, including document review, coordination of contractual requirements, confidentiality agreements, and record maintenance.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • At least five years of progressively responsible human resources experience in a generalist or similar HR role.
  • Experience with full-cycle recruiting and new hire onboarding.
  • Experience with payroll processing, timekeeping administration, or related payroll activities.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and general HR practices.
  • Experience using HRIS, applicant tracking, or similar business systems.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including spreadsheets, formulas, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or another relevant HR certification.
  • Human resources experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Paycor HRIS, payroll, timekeeping, or recruiting functionality.
  • Experience coordinating employee training or administering an LMS.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or another regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with government contracting requirements, including FAR/DFARS, or experience with Epicor ERP.
